Natalie specializes in a broad range of domestic tax issues, including income and expense recognition, capitalization, cost recovery, accounting methods and periods, net operating losses, business interest deduction limitations, the limitation on excess business losses of noncorporate taxpayers, the corporate alternative minimum tax, the deduction for qualified business income, agricultural cooperatives, farming and timber tax issues, and certain business credits. 

Natalie served as a Legislation Tax Accountant for the Joint Committee on Taxation of the United States Congress where she assisted Congressional tax-writing committees and members of Congress with the development, analysis, and drafting of domestic tax legislation. During her tenure on the Committee, Natalie was involved with the drafting and enactment of numerous pieces of tax legislation, including the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the CHIPS Act of 2022, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the CARES Act, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and several others.  She also assisted with the Joint Committee on Taxation’s review of large income tax refund claims (pursuant to I.R.C. § 6405).

Prior to joining the Joint Committee on Taxation, Natalie was a Tax Director in the Washington National Tax Accounting Methods & Periods group at RSM, advising companies on complex accounting methods issues involving income and expense recognition, capitalization, inventory methods, amortization/depreciation, and accounting period issues. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Senior Manager at EY in the National Tax Department’s Accounting Methods & Inventories group. She also previously worked at a regional accounting firm.

Natalie is a certified public accountant in Washington DC and Florida. She holds a Masters in Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama and a BA degree in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of North Florida.
